You can control access to a shared disk or CD-ROM disc by unmounting it (temporarily removing it from the desktop).
To make a shared disk or CD-ROM disc temporarily unavailable:

Open Mac OS Server Admin and log on to the server you want to administer. |

Press the Privileges button and choose Show Disks & Shared Items. |

Select the hard disk or CD-ROM disc that you want to unmount. |

You cannot unmount a computer's startup disk. |

Click Unmount. |

Any users that were connected to the disc are immediately disconnected. |
To make a shared hard disk available again:

Restart your computer or use a utility such as Drive Setup (included on your system software CD or utilities floppy disk) to remount the disk. |
To make a CD-ROM disc available again:
• |
Insert it in the CD-ROM drive. |
